Robert Kalman: What’s it like for you to be an American?
Portraits and thoughts from across the country
As we approach the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, photographer Robert Kalman set out across the country to find out what Americans think about their national self-identity during this historic time. Four years on the road: 20,000 miles, 23 states and the District of Columbia, 500 formal portraits and 500 handwritten answers to the question “What’s it like for you to be an American?”
Robert Kalman’s new book includes 76 portraits and his Kickstarter is now live. Go to Series Information for the link.
