Le Mans Racetrack
Wilbur Wright gave the first public flying machine demonstration on August 8, 1908, at Les Hunaudières race track in Le Mans, France. In 1923, just 15 years after his flight, this same race track would become part of the world famous 24 Hours of Le Mans automobile race. The Les Hunaudières flying demonstration finally proved to the world that man could fly and that the Wrights were the ones who made it possible.
