Private 1st Class Kai Azada served in silence from 1982-1988 as an Army dental laboratory specialist. While in the Army, he reported a sexual harassment claim and was subsequently investigated for being a lesbian. He is a 10-year member of the Alexander Hamilton Post #448 of the American Legion. Kai transitioned from female to male in 2000.
