Karene-Isabelle Jean-Baptiste: Faces of Montreal

Karene-Isabelle Jean-Baptiste is a second generation Haitian-Canadian Montrealer. I was introduced to her photography through her interest in the Canadian Immigration at Pier 21’s Artist in Residence. Karene-Isabelle states her aim as a photographer “is to capture and highlight the elusive moments of magic that appear and disappear within a scene or a moment. I like to tell the stories of the people who feel unseen by the world around them.” Enjoy this short series of her emotive portraits.
