Meryl Meisler: New York PARADISE LOST

Bushwick Era Disco

Bronx-born Meryl Meisler’s new book “New York PARADISE LOST: Bushwick Era Disco” takes you on a journey through gritty New York City from the late ’70s to the early ’90s.

Meisler was part of the ‘70s NYC club scene. When she became a schoolteacher in 1979, her nightlife ventures were limited to weekends. Through it all, she continuously documented her surroundings.

In conjunction with the release of the book, photographs are on show at ClampArt, New York City, from June 3 – July 9, 2021; at Lightwork, Syracuse, NY, March 22 -July 23, 2021; and will be at the Center for Photography in Woodstock, NY, from July 1 – August 15, 2021.
